To mark Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori, New Zealand’s oldest newspaper is changing its name today.
The 162-year-old Wanganui Chronicle is adding the H to its spelling of Whanganui, bringing it in line with an official change to the district name made three years ago.
Editor Mark Dawson says the paper has always reflected the district it represents, and prides itself on being a local paper that serves the community.
