Polls pummel Peters pummels polls
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is staying true to form and dismissing a poll that puts his party at just 2 percent and on the road to oblivion.
The Colmar Brunton TVNZ poll released an hour before last night’s leaders’ debate showed Labour dropping five points to 48 percent, and National is down 1 percentage point to 31 percent.
ACT gained 2 points to 7 percent and the Green Party was up 1 point to 6 percent.
In the leadership stakes, Jacinda Ardern was the preferred prime minister of 54 percent of respondents, Judith Collins was at 18 percent and Mr Peters at 2 percent.
He says the pollsters have got it wrong too often for him to be concerned about what they say.
"Yeah the only polls I respect live in Warsaw," Mr Peters says.
