On Friday afternoon.  the results of half a million special votes were announced. With Te Pāti Māori gaining an extra two two seats, including

Mariameno Kapa-Kingi for te Tai Tokerau and Takutaimoana Natasha Kemp for Tāmaki Makaurau. making this the most successful election result in its history.

I spoke with Mariameno Kapa-Kingi about her four vote win against Labour MP Peeni Henare
