Last push for Census returns
Stats NZ is about to send out 55,000 final notices for people to get in their Census returns.
Deputy Government Statistician Simon Mason says almost 4.5 million people have returned their census forms so far, or 88 percent of the estimated population.
About 72 percent of the estimated Māori population and 76 percent of Pasifika have responded.
Stats NZ is working with organisations like the Whanau Ora Commissioning Agency to lift responses.
The public 0800 CENSUS (0800 236 787) helpline will remain open until June 30, which is the final date for the 2023 Census.
For people returning paper forms, they will need to arrive with Stats NZ by 30 June to be counted.
