Breakers shooting for NBL title
Ball control and finding the basket are the two things that will can win the New Zealand Breakers the NBL Championship in Sydney tonight.
That’s the word from basketball fanatic Jeff Green, who says the Breakers have been one of the few teams to push the Sydney Kings on their home court this season.
He says it’s taken the New Zealand team a mammoth effort to come back from the Covid years and their relocation to Australia, and they’ve shown they’ve got what it takes to win – as long as they don’t turn over the ball.
“The losses they’ve had in this finals series, they’ve had a tremendous amount of turnovers so they’ve got to value the basketball and not give it away cheaply. The second thing is they’ve just got to shoot better. If they can shoot the ball well they are one of the few teams that have gone into Sydney and beaten them. They can definitely do that tonight,” he says.
Jeff Green says the Kings’ coach whining about the refs should add some spice to tonight’s final, which tips off at 9.30pm New Zealand time.
