Census mop up gathers pace

Statistics New Zealand is still working out how to get the census in from some flood-affected areas of the East Coast not yet covered.
Maori director Atawhai Tibble says some accessible areas have already been covered, and the rest should know within the next week what is happening.
Once they get their forms, it may be difficult for people to remember exactly what they were doing on Census day March 7.
“The trick here is just remember the best you can and what you put down is what you put down. No one is going to be able to test that so we leave it in the hands of our fine people of Aotearoa to make their own decisions about how they fill in their forms but completely understand if people say ‘I can’t remember.’ Our advice is write down what you think is the right answer,” Mr Tibble says.
Form should also be in the hands of people in some isolated areas of Taitokerua within the next week.
