Sallies offers online Christmas buffet for donors
The Salvation Army expects unprecedented demand for gifts this Christmas.
Major Alan Irwin says the last three years have been tough, and it’s going to be even tougher this festive season.
He says while people can walk into any Salvation Army centre with donations of non-perishable food or gifts for children, he’s also urging them to go online to sallies gifts of hope dot org where they can choose from a range of gifts from $15 to $240.
“There’s different levels of gifts, different ways – financial mentoring, early education, food support, wraparound support, all that kind of stuff, and the way we have designed it is hopefully when people go online they will see something there and say ‘I can really identify with that, and that is the gift we will give,'” Major Irwin says.
