Taitokerau MP Kelvin Davis says he's ready to be a bridge between the Government and Auckland's new mayor.
Taitokerau MP Kelvin Davis says he’s ready to be a bridge between the Government and Auckland’s new mayor.
Mr Davis says he’s known Wayne Brown from his time as the Far North’s mayor, and despite an abrasive start he now considers him a mate.
“We’ll have to get in there and work with Wayne and there will have to be the liaison between Auckland council and government so if that is what needs to happen I will go in there and be one of those conduits I guess,’ he says.
Mr Davis says it’s great to see 66 new Māori councillors and 5 Māori mayors around the country.
