Superannuitants give helping hand
A charity aimed at helping older New Zealanders give younger people a helping hand has passed the milestone of $1 million in donations.
Retired South Auckland social worker Liz Grieve set up Share My Super three years ago.
She’s identified about a dozen organisations to support, including some who work with Maori and Pasifika such as teacher training organisation Ako Matatupu.
“I work with Te Pa, who work with our rangatahi who have been in the justice system. There are numerous other organisations who provide food, clothing, warm beds throughout New Zealand,” Ms Grieve says.
The Share My Super website allows people to specify where their donations should go.
