Barrett brings partner vision to Lifewise


The new chief executive of Methodist support agency Lifewise is keen for Tāmaki Makaurau’s mana whenua iwi to work with it to address the needs of the city’s most vulnerable residents.
The national organisation has about 300 staff in Auckland, including many Māori with lived experience of homelessness, mental health and addiction.
Haehaetu Barrett says Lifewise has a wide range of services, but it can’t do everything, which is where its relationships with other orgnasations and mana whenua comes in.
“Lifewise might not be the right service but at lease we can refer or support our whanau to another service so my role as CEO is creating meaningful partnerships with like minded teams and organisations across the motu so I know our people are being cared, loved and looked after,” she says.
