New development for MWDI boss Tepania Ashton


Māori Women’s Development Incorporated chief executive Teresa Tepania-Ashton is stepping down to take up a new role as director of advocacy and programmes for UNICEF Aotearoa.
The board has appointed the organisation’s finance and lending head, Linda Clay, as interim CEO.
Ms Ashton came to the job in 2011 after working internationally for Citibank and then as CEO for Te Rūnanga-ā-Iwi o Ngāpuhi.
MWDI chair Māreikura Druis Barrett says she has future proofed the foundation of the organisation to support wāhine and their whānau starting new businesses or expanding on their existing businesses through its programmes and services.
