No joke as Pasifika Fest calls for performers
Organisers of the Pasifika Festival hope Auckland will be open enough next March to stage the massive celebration of Polynesian cultures after a three-year gap.
Aotearoa stage organiser Louisa Tipene-Opetaia says as well as food and craft, the stages in each village are a big draw.
The call is going out for performers, including singers, dancers, kapa haka and cultural performances, comedians and poets.
“We’re really open to anything that can entertain the masses of people that come to Pasifika and we really want the Aotearoa Village to be a place that people look forward to coming to,” she says.
Pasifika on March 19 and 20 is returning to Western Springs.
