Te Matawai looking for new places for reo nurturing

Te Reo Tukutuku, which represents community, media, education and urban Māori sectors on Te Mātāwai, has opened its latest funding round for Māori language revitalisation initiatives.
Board member Bernie O’Donnell says proposals need to align with Te Mātāwai’s refreshed strategic outcomes which focus on whānau wellbeing, intergenerational transmission, immersion domains, reo movements, and national identity.
He says the round aims to encourage innovation and the development of new spaces where the language is spoken and nurtured in communities, education, the media and urban-Māori settings.
Proposals need to be in by June 14.
