Te Maataawai ready for next level
There's a transition at the Māori language body Te Mātāwai, with founding board members Robin Hapi and Mereana Selby stepping down, along with former co-chair Te Waihoroi Shortland.
Ms Selby will be replaced by educationalist Brenda Soutar, while Mr Hapi's replacement as crown appointee is yet to be announced.
Co-chair Tiare Tepana says the trio have been tirelesss advocates for te reo Māori, and it's now up to fellow co-chair Reikura Kahi and himself to pick up off where they left off.
"At the moment her and I are working towards new initiatives and thinking about taking the organisation to the next level. Waihoroi and Mereana have worked really hard and we are privileged to take this new role and work towards the next stage for language revitalisation," he says.
Hone Sadler, Tamzyn Pue, Hayley Galo and Tunuarangi McLean were appointed to Te Mātāwai's Pae Motuhake regional investment panel.
