Police Ten 7 feeding racist stereotypes – Collins

An Auckland councillor is calling for TVNZ to drop its Police Ten 7 show.
Southside representative Efeso Collins says the show is the product of a French-owned company based in Australia with no interest in how Aotearoa-New Zealand is developing.
His anger was sparked by seeing a promo for the show featuring a shot of a group of young Māori or Pacific Island people.
"The subtle message it is sending to those watching the show is if you are brown and young you are brutal, thuggish and a criminal and I am tired of those messages. All it is doing is offering the feeding frenzy that is a racist stereotype and these programmes have done their time. It is high time they were dropped," he says.
Efeso Collins says Police Ten 7 is chewing gum tv with no taste and no flavour and it’s time for New Zealand to spit it out
