Mobsters reject Kingville target tag

An associate of Waikato’s Mongrel Mob Kingdom is accusing the police of a deliberate effort to undermine its efforts at reform.
Police Minister Stuart Nash yesterday announced there had been 29 arrests in what police called Operation Kingville, targeting senior leadership of the Waikato Mongrel Mob.
Paula Ormsby says the so-called leader arrested had left the chapter years ago.
She says it comes down to poor police intelligence or deliberate misinformation.
"It’s a part of the ideological hegemony that they stick to. They want to be able to keep society believing gangs cannot change, we are all a part of the same kaupapa around shifting meth and that kind of thing – absolutely deliberate ploy of misinformation and misrepresenting us," Ms Ormsby says.
She says no Mongrel Mob Kingdom member or leader was arrested.
