Marcroft joins Auckland Central race
New Zealand First MP Jenny Marcroft will fly the flag for the party Auckland Central in the September election.
She joins a crowded field, as Labour's Helen White tries to unseat National's deputy leader Nikki Kaye, with the Greens' Chloe Swarbrick also making a play for the electorate vote.
Ms Marcroft says the bulk of her broadcasting career was in Auckland Central, and she knows the place and knows the people.
Her policies will include moving port operations to Whangārei, improving transport by pushing the rail link through from Puhinui to the airport, and boosting primary healthcare.
