Scientist Kingi joins Pamu board
Agricultural scientist Tanira Kingi has been appointed to the board of state-owned farming giant Landcorp Pamu.
Dr Kingi from Ngāti Whakauae Te Arawa has an extensive background in agricultural systems, land economics and forestry and is currently the research leader in primary industry systems at Scion, the crown forestry institute.
He also chairs the Te Arawa Primary Sector Group and sits on the boards of several Māori economic authorities.
Pamu chair Warren Parker says Dr Kingi’s extensive work in a range of agricultural-related research and development projects, along with his in-depth knowledge of the forestry sector, will be invaluable to Pāmu as it looks to optimise land use and profitability while maintaining environmental sustainability.
