Kingi king of Maori pop

Troy Kingi’s master plan of 10 albums in 10 years continues to pay rewards, with the Northland musican taking the Māori artist and best roots arts awards at last night’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
It comes after picking up the best soul and Māori artist Tui's at last year’s awards.
Despite not having any new releases in the year, Six60 picked up the highest selling artist, radio airplay and people’s choice tohu.
Grey Lynn 19-year-old Benee picked up four awards, including best solo artist, best pop artists, breakthrough artist, and single of the year with Soaked, which she also did in te reo for Hinewehi Mohi's Anthems project.
