Trade Ministry internship for Ngai Tahu scholar

Ngāi Tahu Holdings has added the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade to its Matakahi internship programme.

Previous Matakahi scholars have gained work experience with companies such as Simpson Grierson and Vodafone.

The first MFAT Matakahi scholar is Makayla Glancy, a third-year student at Victoria University of Wellington studying towards a double degree in Law and Science.

For the internship she will work in the ministry’s trade negotiations division,

The ministry already offers Aorere internships for Māori students or recent graduates.

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu chief executive Arihia Bennett says the pilot internship programme demonstrates the shared commitment both organisations to grow future leaders.
