Last chance to enter the E Tū Whānau Song Competition
Media Release
There is just one week left to enter the E Tū Whānau Song Competition which closes on 1st September 2019 at noon.
Some great entries have been received already from individual and group entrants of all ages throughout Aotearoa. These can be viewed in the competition gallery on E Tū Whānau’s Facebook page.

Entrants are asked to write songs inspiring positive change and incorporating one or more of E Tū Whānau values, ie: Aroha, Whanaungatanga, Whakapapa, Mana/Manaaki, Kōrero Awhi, and Tikanga.
This year, rather than a public vote category, all prize winners will be determined by competition judges Pere Wihongi of Maimoa, Maisey Rika, Betty-Anne Monga of Ardijah and Maaka Phat.
Winners of the Open Entry category (any age) receive cash prizes of $5000 (1st), $2000 (2nd) and $1000 (3rd). Winners of the new Rangatahi category (16 years & under) receive gift cards of $1000 (1st), $500 (2nd) and $250 (3rd).
Entrants are encouraged to read the competition rules first before entering.
E Tū Whānau is a movement encouraging New Zealanders from all communities to reject unacceptable levels of violence in Aotearoa by nurturing and celebrating the things that make whānau strong.
