Hub to help Whakatāne rangatahi into jobs
More than 200 rangatahi are set to benefit from a new employment hub in Whakatāne.
Opening Tū Maia Rangatahi Hub this morning, Employment Minister Willie Jackson said it will get more rangatahi from the eastern Bay of Plenty earning and learning.
It’s part of Te Puna Ora o Mataatua’s to Whaiā Te Rangatiratanga – Pathways to Independence programme, which last August received $1.7 million in He Poutama Rangatahi funding.
Mr Jackson says the hub will provide resources, tools and networks for rangatahi to look for jobs within a kaupapa Māori environment.
