Karāpiro30th Te Wānanga o Aotearoa National Waka Ama Sprint Championships
Today – Day 2 of the National Waka Ama Sprint Championships – we began with fog, it lifted by 8:25 and races commenced. With the last of our midgies vying for final placements.
Weds highlights: Horouta’s team Puhi Kaiariki – won their final heat and will be competing tomorrow for the J16 Women W6 (6 persons in waka) 500M Final Championship. Puhi kaiariki – of Gisborne are the favorite tomorrow for the final and are in lane 1.
Puhi Kaiariki are also in the Championship final (tomorrow) for the J16 Women W12 (12 persons in waka) 500M. they are in lane 2 for this race.
