Former lawyer and broadcaster Te Raumawhitu Kupenga and producer Whetu Fala have been appointed to the board of Nga Taonga Sound & Vision.
The appointments follow the retirements of Derek Fox, Judith Fyfe, and former chair Jane Kominik, and the resignation of Peter Douglas, who left to take up a position in the public service.
Board chair Simon Murdoch says the new trustees will bring to Nga Taonga a wealth of relevant expertise and experience and ensure it realises its vision and potential as the audiovisual archive for all New Zealanders.
Whetu Fala also sits on the board of Maori Television and has produced, directed and edited hundreds of hours of television, including drama, documentaries, reality series and short films in Aotearoa starting at TVNZ in 1988.
Te Rau Kupenga previously worked as a lawyer the Office of the Maori Trustee and in a commercial law firm in Wellington and has also been part of the senior leadership team at the Ministry of Education.
He now works as a consultant.
