Whanau Ora review looks for evidence of success

The Minister for Whanau Ora hopes a review will lead to wider support and funding for the comprehensive service delivery programme.

Peeni Henare says he’s talking with whanau ora commissioning agencies and others on the terms of reference for the review and looking for the right people to conduct it.

He’s impressed with the job being done by providers, and the purpose of the review is to strengthen the programme.

"There are always those critics of whanau ora. One of the main purposes of this review is to say 'kati, ka nui tena, there is enough of that, here is the evidence, this is what the review says, it shows this kaupapa is working,' and one of the by-products of that is we can push for more support from my colleagues in cabinet," Mr Henare says.
