Flavell offering bridge to business
Former MP Te Ururoa Flavell sees a role for himself as a business bridge builder.
The Maori Party co-leader is looking for a life after politics, with his parliamentary salary due to end soon.
He’s considering a business to connect Maori and mainstream businesses.
"I want to be in the middle of that because I think there is a big huge gap of Pakeha, non-Maori having a real understanding about working with Maori and there is huge potential for our people to have some gains if they get to the right places and have good contacts. I see that as a nation building exercise as well where there are so many non-Maori who don't understand about te ao Maori and I want to be in that scenario," Mr Flavell says.
He has also received offers from universities to lecture in politics and business from a Maori point of view.
