Hui paving way for Ngapuhi talks to resume

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has high hopes for her Treaty Negotiations Minister’s return foray into the north.
Andrew Little will meet with Ngapuhi claimants at six hui over the next two days.
It follows meetings last month with mandated claim negotiation body Tuhoronuku and its opposition group Te Kotahitanga, as well as a large public hui.
Ms Ardern says he brings his own approach to the long-running stand-off over who should represent the country’s largest tribe in settling historic claims.
"He wants to take the time to talk to individual groups who have an interest in seeing progress up there on settlements up there so that is what he is focused on but taking the time before he leads into that process to really understand the issues and that is Andrew, that is the way he works, and he will be really fantastic in that job," she says.
Mr Little will be at Kaeo, Ohaewai and Moerewa on Saturday and Omapere, Titoki and Whangarei on Sunday.
