Davis keen to pull government levers

The new government won’t be sworn in until next week but Labour deputy-leader Kelvin Davis says the Jacinda Ardern-led coalition is already hard at work preparing for the change New Zealanders expect.
Mr Davis says Ms Ardern was a superstar in coalition talks with New Zealand First and as soon as Winston Peters announced his choice her Labour team swung into action.
"We’re not a Government that will sit around waiting for market forces to do whatever it does. We are going to be rolling up our sleeves and starting to pull those levers of government that are going to make things better for our people and that is the reason we want to be in government. We were sick and tired of the drift of the previous nine years and we really want to make a difference. The hard work starts now," he says.
