Utilising waahine and taane key to corporate success


Wahine are playing as big a role in iwi corporate success as tane says the Chair of FOMA Traci Houpapa.
Huihuinga Wahine the Maori Women's Leadership Summit was held last week and heard that the national gender pay gap is 12%.
Traci Houpapa says iwi entities like Tainui are utilsing the skills of both wahine and tane with great success because that's the way te ao Maori works.
It's tikanga and kawa in action.
"And we're staying to see that come through and we see bottom line results. Look at Tainui recently reported one of their best results ever and if you take that out and extrapolate that across the broader New Zealand corporate scene, Maori and iwi organisations collectively own assets and led and are consistently outperforming our Pakeha whanaunga," says Traci Houpapa, Chair FOMA Federation of Maori Authorities.
