Greens after rangatahi vote
Greens co-leader Metiria Turei says younger voters are harder to reach but they will be critical in next year’s election.
The party ends the year with much of its policy out in the public and a memorandum of understanding with Labour that she says has made it easier to talk to voters about the type of government they want to see.
It is also putting effort into harvesting more Maori votes and shoring up its support among young people.
"Their vote does have power and they do have a right to have a say about what happens to them. If they don’t have a say, someone else will decide for them. The anarchist in me doesn’t like other people making decisions for me. I want other people to be in control of those decisions for themselves as well," Ms Turei says.
