Reo boost in scholarships

Nga Pae o Te Maramatanga and Te Taura Whiri are calling for applications for their Kia Ita masters scholarships and their new Tohu Puiaki – doctoral completion scholarships.
They’re offering up to $20,000 each to six people completing doctorates either in English on Maori language revitalisation, or, who are writing their thesis in Te Reo Maori on any subject.
Associate Professor Tracey McIntosh, the co-director of the centre for Maori research excellence, says the scholarships encourage research into te reo Maori and build research capacity among Maori communities.
Applications close on February 28.
