FOMA keen to work with straighforward English

The chair of the Federation of Maori Authorities says she is looking forward to working with Bill English as Prime Minister.
Traci Houpapa says in her dealings with Mr English in both Government and Opposition she has found him honest and straighforward.
She says while FOMA is concerned abiout regional development because that's where a lot of the Maori land based assets are, it is also mindful a lot of shareholders and owners live in urban areas.
"So we need to be sure policy represents and reflects our aspiratation to improve the quality of life for our members regardless of where they live, and so those are the conversations we had with the former prime minister John Key and that we will continue with Bill English and his deputy prime minister Paula Bennett," Ms Houpapa says.
