Sons of Zion front homeless concert before heading overseas

Tickets have been flying out the door for tonight's Music Is Love, Hope For the Homeless benefit concert at The Studio on Auckland's Karangahape Road.
What started as a joint project by reggae bands Sons of Zion and Three Houses Down has turned into a much bigger event, with the other guests like Che Fu, Pieter T, Swiss, Rob Ruha, Ria Hall and Annie Crummer taking to tuhe stage.
The Sons' Rio Panapa says they're looking forward to delivering a sizeable cheque to Te Puea Marae tomorrow to support its efforts helping homeless whanau.
Then Sons of Zion head back to the United States, where they join a number of bands from Aotearoa carving out a niche with their reggae styles.
"It's received really well in the west coast of America, because there are a lot of Samoan and Tongan whanau living up there, and also the surfers on the coast who really dig their reggae music," Panapa says.
