SIR GRAHAM LATIMER
New Zealand First is saddened by the news of the passing of Sir Graham Latimer.
“Sir Graham has advocated for the rights of Māori for over 50 years and it is a testament to his life that he is so highly regarded by many of his people,” says Māori Affairs Spokesperson Pita Paraone.
“He led the Māori Council’s fight against the Crown in 1987 to protect Māori assets from being sold through the State Owned Enterprises Act.
“Many have acknowledged his role and service over so many years.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Sir Graham’s family at this time,” says Mr Paraone.
