Trump surge challenge to status quo

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is looking at another maverick upsetting the political apple cart.
He says real estate and reality TV mogul Donald Trump's bid to be the Republican nominee in the United States presidential race is gaining traction because ordinary Americans feel shut out by the political establishment.
He says there will be more shocks before the process is over.
"I think he is going to go all the way to be the nominee for the republican party and in the meantime you've got a whole lot of people who have been corrupting the political process in Washington who find this guy a nighmare because what he is saying is 'I will clean you guys out, I'm going to take away your influence, I'm going to shut you out from corrupting the process,' and that is the reason why they're all getting angry," Mr Peters says.
