Flag ban Tau much

Mana Movement leader Hone Harawira is demanding Ngapuhi leader Sonny Tau apologise to a kuia he allegedly evicted from a kaumatua tent for carrying a Tino Rangatiratanga flag.
The incident happened during the Ngapuhi Festival at the start of the month, but it continues to raise a stir in the iwi.
Mr Harawira says 70-year-old Te Tomo Nahi had a long involvement with treaty and land protests.
"It’s the Tino Rangatiratanga flag and those who marched behind it that gave birth to the struggle for sovereignty and that's the struggle that gave rise to all this iwi stuff that made Sonny a leader. To do that to one of those who was instrumental to the struggle is an insult to the flag, it's an insult to that woman," he says.
The Ngapuhi Runanga says acting chair Carol Dodd has discussed the incident privately with Mrs Nahi.
