Tu Williams to head Mana Ririki

The new chief executive of a group set up to eliminate Maori child abuse says all those working in the area need to come together to look at Maori-based solutions.
Tuwhakairiora Williams from Whakatohea, Ngaitai and Ngati Porou has worked in business, the public sector and with iwi organisations.
He says he’s looking forward to leading Te Kahui Mana Ririki Trust’s efforts to create violence free whanau environments.
The trust has developed parenting and anti-violence programmes that it has testing with parents and whanau.
Mr Williams says it has identified the need for more research on the behaviours and attitudes of young fathers.
Te Kahui Mana Ririki is supported by the Tindall Foundation and the Todd Foundation and does not receive any government funding.
