MWWL past president a fighter for whanau wellbeing


Former Maori Women’s Welfare League president Linda Grennell has passed away.
Mrs Grennell headed the league from 2005 to 2008, after heading up its Te Waipounamu executive.
She also served on health roopu including the independent Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service and Kidney Health New Zealand, as well as serving her iwi on Te Runanga o Koukourarata,
Maori Development Minister Te Ururoa Flavell says she was also shoulder tapped to be on the shoulder to be part of the taskforce that laid the foundations for Whanau Ora.
He says she was always a vigorous and vigilant champion for whanau wellbeing and lived Whanau Ora.
