Chris Brown drops downunder tour
No chance of a marae welcome for Chris Brown.
That’s because the American singer has called off his tour downunder because he can’t get a visa for Australia.
Immigration New Zealand says he has now withdrawn his application for a visa to enter this county, which would need special approval because of his convictions relating to an assault on his former partner Rihanna.
A spokesperson for promoters Castor and Ford, Jevan Goulter, says Brown thanked fans for their support and looked forward to touring in the near future.
Brown’s visa application had been backed by a number of senior wahine Maori, including former Maori Party co-leader Dame Tariana Turia.
