Whiti Te Ra !
Patricia Grace’s retelling for children of the story behind the world's most famous haka will be launched at Te Papa in Wellington this afternoon.
Haka! and its te reo Maori companion Whiti Te Ra! was produced by Te Runanga o Ngati Toa and Huia Publishers.
Huia director Eboni Waitere says it was an honour to have the distinguished author write the story of the great Ngati Toa chief Te Rauparaha and how he came to compose Ka Mate, Ka Mate.
The books have been illustrated Andrew Burdan, who has previously story boarded films including District 9, Aliens in the Attic and Without a Paddle, as well as illustrating other children’s stories.
