An organiser of a 250 strong protest rally against the TPPA in Kaitaia at the weekend says it brought the issue down to the grass roots.
Rueben Taipari Porter says he was not only blown away by the number of Maori who turned up in the small northland township but the pakeha wh owere in attendance.
He says it was very powerful to hear pakeha talk about Te Tiriti and wanting to unite with Maori to hold the Government accountable.
Rueben Taipari Porter says doctors who were present also talked about the increased cost of medicines and local shopkeepers who saw the deal having impact on other prices.
