CTU says Maori are the big losers in TPPA
Council of Trade Unions Maori Vice-President Syd Keepa sees Maori being big losers if the Trans Pacific Agreement is signed.
While representatives from the 12 nations negotiating the deal failed to reach agreement at a meeting in Hawai'i at the weekend many including New Zealand's Trade Minister Tim Groser think this is more a hiccup rather than a collapse.
Mr Keepa says the good thing is the delay will allow more time for opposition to make its voice heard but the bad thing is the TPPA is still alive.
He says there are deep concerns among Maori about what would happen to tino rangatiratanga if the TPPA does go ahead.
