A Te Arawa commercial leader has been appointed to the board of Auckland council controlled organisation Watercare Services.
David Thomas is chair of Ngati Whakaue Tribal Lands Incorporation, as well as being general manager of Winstone Wallboards in Auckland.
He replaces Susan Huria, who has retired.
Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse says Mr Thomas has a depth of senior level experience within large industry organisations and his knowledge of health and safety requirements will be most valuable to Watercare.
