Iwi strikes accord with polytech
Palmerston North-based polytechnic UCOL has signed an accord with Te Puna Matauranga o Whanganui refreshing their commitment to work alongside each other.
Te Puna chair John Maihi says education is the key to a successful future for his people.
He says facilitating education options for Maori people and advancing Maori educational achievement and retention rates are key aspirations for Whanganui iwi.
Te Puna has been involved in curriculum development for the proposed new Bachelor of Design and Arts degree at Whanganui UCOL so that the programme truly belongs to the Whanganui region.
