Pitch puts game in peril
A game between the Maori All Blacks and an invitational Asia Pacific Dragons’ side in Singapore next month could be in trouble because of a poor pitch.
Construction delays at the new National Stadium meant the grass wasn’t properly bedded in, and despite reseeding four times the pitch is still full of bare sandy patches.
Staff say they are struggling to cope with the demands of hosting many different events including sports games and concerts in a tropical climate.
