Hiccup in TV funding

Maori broadcast funding agency Te Mangai Paho has assured independent producers the latest round of funding for Maori Television projects will go ahead.
Maori Television this week told the programme makers their productions had been put on hold because of a dispute over the agency’s latest Television Production Funding Agreement.
Te Mangai Paho Chief Executive John Bishara says the commissioning team had jumped the gun, and reservations Maori Television personnel had over the proposed changes have now been satisfactorily addressed.
Radio Waatea understands the agency has been concerned about the level of te reo Maori in the programmes it is funding.
