Greens co-leader Metiria Turei says Prime Minister John Key can’t keep running from the implications of the Dirty Politics revelations.
Ms Turei says while Judith Collins has been forced to resign because of her links to National Party attack blogger Cameron Slater, Mr Key hasn’t explained his own links to Whale Oil.
She says a full independent inquiry is needed.
"Key is refusing to hold his own people to account and he's refusing to take the allegations against him seriously. It's a real problem that a prime minister is behaving like this, pretendng it's not happening. No one is going to trust a prime minister who takes such a relaxed attitude to something so serious," she says.
Ms Turei says the Greens went through the experience of National secretly teaming up with the Exclusive Brethren to attack them in the 2005 election, but the latest Dirty Politics revelations are even worse.
