New head for TVNZ Maori programmes

Television New Zealand's new gneral manager of Maori and Pacific Programmes says the role is an opportunity to foster and develop Te Reo Maori for a wide audience.
Raewyn Rasch, who has Ngai Tahu, German-Samoan and Irish whakapapa, has been acting in the role since Shane Taurima stepped down in January after admitting using company resources for Labour Party activities.
TVNZ’s head of news and current affairs, John Gillespie, says Ms Rasch brings a lot of experience and skill to the role, including spells as executive producer of both Fair Go and Seven Sharp, and programme producer for Marae Investigates.
Ms Rasch says it's an honour to be able to represent both her Maori and Samoan heritage and to work with people who are incredibly passionate about Te Reo and Pacific culture.
