Breast cancer warning for wahine Maori

The chair of the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coaltition Libby Burgess says Maori women need to be particulallry aware of the dangers of breast cancer.
Libby Burgess says in 2010 the latest year for which official statistics are available there was a 90 percent higher chance of Maori women losing their life to breast cancer than others.
" Thats really an unacceptable situation and we want our Maori women to be particularly aware of the need to look after their breasts and we want Maori women to respond to any little changes that they notice in their breasts " she says
" Libby Burgess says in particular older women don't realise there are alot more symptoms of breast cancer than a lump such as a rash or change in the size of the breast.
A focus on breast health for older women is the theme of this years fund raisier for the breast cancer charity.
