Māori leadership on show in Canada
The creators of a book and exhibition about Māori leadership have made a special tāonga for their hosts for the Canadian leg of the show.
Te Ara: Māori Pathways of Leadership, featuring photographs by Auckland-based photographer Krzysztof Pfeiffer, has shown at museums in Poland, German and the UK.
It opened last Friday at the Musqueam Gallery in Vancouver, which belongs to the First Peoples of the Vancouver area.
For the third edition of the exhibition book by co-curators Paul Tapsell and Merata Kawharu, the text comes in English, te reo Māori and Musqueam, making it one of very few texts in the language.
